Often if you are looking to buy a hog or spit roast machine it can be difficult to work out which machine is most suited to your needs and requirements, this is because there are variety of different hog roast machines available on the market all available in different models that are designed to meet different demands. To combat this we have introduced the following guide which is designed to help you choose the correct range and model of machine. 1. As standard with every machine across all of our ranges
Firstly it is important to state that all our machines come with the following as standard:

Instructional CD: including information on assembly, preparation, cooking, cleaning, hints and tips

2. Select your range of machine (base selection)
When selecting the range you are essentially selecting the base of your machine. All of our bases will accommodate both the spit and the hog roast attachments (see step 3). We have four ranges of machine each suited to different needs and requirements they are as follows:
Professional Range - Our smallest machine, a scaled down version of our commercial model which is suited for private use and for commercial operations that are looking to cook meat products up to 40kg. Perfect for catering for small private functions, friends and family, in a restaurant, summer barbeques ect.
Commercial Range - Our most popular range perfectly suited for commercial use including small to large catering companies, restaurants, pubs and hotels who are looking to looking to cook meat product up to 90kg. Perfect for catering for small to large events including weddings, corporate functions and private parties, public events including festivals, shows and markets and for use in large pubs, restaurants and hotels. We have two models in the commercial range the Zeus and the Titan.
Restaurant Range - Our built in model which is designed be installed into a pub, restaurant or hotel and to be used indoors. Can be used as a focal point and large reinforced glass windows allow guests or customers to watch the meat products cooking. Installed by Hog Roast Services engineers the machine can cook meat products up to 90kg and comes with a variety of optional extras.
Traditional Range (Spit Version and BBQ only) - Our non gas powered machine that is designed to cook over charcoal. This traditional method of cooking can be used to spit roast meat products or barbeque using the specially designed barbeque plate. Perfect for home use, pubs, hotels and restaurant catering companies who are looking to cook using traditional and flavoursome methods at outdoor events.
3. Select the version of your machine (cooking method)
Every one of our machines is available in a spit, hog or combi version. The bases of the machine in each range will accommodate all three versions, so for example if you buy a Commercial Titan Hog you can at a later date add the complete spit kit to your base so the machine can be used both in its hog roast and spit roast version. Each version brings a new set of advantages and possibilities with regards to the use of the machine.
Spit Version - (Rotating) A pig or lamb can be mounted onto a spit pole which is then rotated in the base of the machine in the cooking position. Once the pig or lamb is cooked the spit is raised up into the serving position and the meat can then be carved onto the carving tray ready to be served. Great for private parties and events where the customer is viewing the product and watching it cook
Advantages
Cooks meat beautifully, meat is tastier and juicer than traditional roasting
Creates a sense of theatre as customers don't often see a true spit roast with the pig rotating
Presents the pig in a very professional manner especially during service.
Hog Version - (Non Rotating) The machine is basically turned into an oven, end plates are added to give the machine an even temperature and a wide variety of meat and other food items can be cooked in the large hog tray which is raised up to the serving position using the hog straps when the products are ready. Great for selling to the public or large events because it can accommodation for large quantities of meat.

Requires minimal skill and attention to cook a perfect pig every time
Can cook a wide variety of meats and food products at large weights than the spit roast version
meaning more people can be served from one machine
Perfect for the hire because of its ease of use and robustness
Combi Version - Includes both the complete spit roast and hog roast versions which means the machine can be used in either way depending on the event of function it is needed for.
